History and Background
Manchester City Football Club is a professional football club based in Manchester, England. It was founded in 1880 as St. Mark's (West Gorton) and played its first competitive match in 1884. In 1894, the club moved to Hyde Road and changed its name to Ardwick Association Football Club. Two years later, the club moved to Maine Road and adopted its current name, Manchester City Football Club.
