National News
The New Yorker has won two 2024 Pulitzer Prizes, one for feature writing and one for editorial cartooning.
The feature writing award was given to Emily Nussbaum for her piece "The #MeToo Reckoning: A Year Later," which explored the impact of the #MeToo movement on the entertainment industry and beyond. The editorial cartooning award was given to Barry Blitt for his cartoon "The Trump Tax Plan," which depicted President Donald Trump as a giant pig holding a bag of money.
This is the first time that The New Yorker has won two Pulitzer Prizes in the same year since 1996.
The Pulitzer Prizes are considered to be the most prestigious awards in American journalism. They are awarded annually by the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism to honor excellence in journalism, literature, and the arts.
