Steve Lawson, an events industry pioneer, inducted into IAEE Hall of Fame, recognized for exceptional lifetime achievement and contributions to the industry

Las Vegas, NV – February 22, 2023 – The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) is proud to announce the induction of Steve Lawson into the IAEE Hall of Fame. This prestigious honor recognizes Lawson's exceptional lifetime achievement and contributions to the events industry.

Lawson, a highly respected industry leader, has dedicated over four decades to the events industry. He began his career at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) in 1980, where he held various leadership positions, including Vice President of Marketing and Sales, before retiring in 2020. During his tenure at the LVCVA, Lawson played a pivotal role in the growth and development of Las Vegas as a world-renowned convention and exhibition destination.

Lawson's leadership extended beyond Las Vegas. He served on the IAEE Board of Directors for numerous terms, including as President in 2013. His passion for the industry led him to actively participate in many IAEE committees, including the Marketing and Sales Committee, the Convention Center Committee, and the Legislative Committee. Lawson's contributions to IAEE have been instrumental in shaping the organization and the industry as a whole.

In addition to his IAEE involvement, Lawson has been an active member of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO). His dedication to the industry has earned him numerous accolades, including the IAEE Industry Achievement Award in 2013, the SISO Hall of Fame Award in 2018, and the ICCA Hall of Fame Award in 2022.

Lawson's induction into the IAEE Hall of Fame is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the events industry. His vision, leadership, and dedication have left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire future generations of industry professionals.

The IAEE Hall of Fame was established in 1993 to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the events industry. Inductees are recognized for their leadership, innovation, and dedication to advancing the profession. Lawson is the 35th member to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
