Russ Yeast, a 25-year-old running back who spent the past two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, has been released by the team.

Yeast was a key contributor to the Rams' Super Bowl run in 2022, rushing for 450 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season. He also had 100 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs.

Yeast Falls Short in 2023

However, Yeast's production declined in 2023, as he rushed for just 250 yards and one touchdown in 10 games. He also lost a fumble in the Rams' Week 10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Yeast was set to earn $2.5 million in 2024, but the Rams decided to release him in order to save money and open up a roster spot for another player. He is now a free agent and will likely have several suitors.
